When our friend and trainer, Tina, first saw Nell she said "Oh look, a tri-colored, prick eared, smooth coated border collie. I've wanted one for years." But Nell is more than a beauty queen. She is the smartest, hardest working dog I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We got her fully trained from Jack Knox, owner of Ettrick Kennels. Jack is one of the Big Hats in the border collie world. Nell is by Jeff and out of Gael, both of which were top dogs in Jack's Kennel.
We use Nell to move goats around the farmyard along with Boone. Where Boone is like an unwieldy club when he moves does around, Nell is an instrument of extreme precision. I can send her out to the farthest corner of the field, and with a little come bye and away adjustment she put the goats anywhere I want them. As of now Nell is training me to work as her partner and I hope to enter trials with her in the near future.
Here's a video of Jack Knox trialing at the National Finals with his dog Jeff, Nell's sire http://video.google.com/ videoplay?docid= 614390910805833270#
Here are some pictures of Nell working some of our kiko kids. Notice the goats giving her trouble and backtalk.

4/8/11 Today at the Jack Knox clinic I worked Nell in the open field. Nell was very happy to see and work with her first master and did beautifully. My main goal for Nell and I as a team this weekend is for me to learn how to run her in a trial. I would like to be ready for trialling by May.
